Amerock Replacment hinges for kitchen cabinets with a 3/8" inset hinge This is a very popular hinge. This hinge is 3/8" Inset meaning the door is lipped. When the door is in the closed position, the back half of the door is sitting inside the frame of the door & half of the door is on the outside of the frame. Also, The door having a dato, the back of the door is smaller allowing the back half of the door to sit inside the frame of the cabinet, the front half of the door is larger than the opening of the frame & the door lays over the frame of the cabinet.
