Variable OverlayThese Black Door Hinges are a variable overlay hinge, The Replacement Hinges Overlay refers to the amount of the door that lays over the face frame. Variable overlay means that depending on where you mount your hinge on the face frame of your cabinet, you can have a different amount of the door overlaying the frame. A quick tip to determine your overlay is, if your door is 12 inches wide and your door opening is 11 inches wide, your overlay will be 1/2 inch. 13 minus 12 = 1 inch divided by two sides of the door leaves 1/2 inch overlay on each side of the door. This is important if you are ordering Replacement Hinges and the hinges are a fixed overlay, the 7139 hinge is a variable overlay so you will need to know the overlay only for the mounting of the hinge in the correct location on the frame. This hinge will work well as a replacement hinge for most applications.
